‘Georgie’ and her kitten ‘Bobby,’ 8 months old have now become permanent residents. ‘Georgie’ was semi feral when she came into our care, and her kittens were feral. We believe she was originally owned, but along with two other cats the owner moved and left them behind. He didn’t allow them to go into the house, but put food outside for them. It is rather a mystery why he even wanted cats in the first place, but who are we to question why ! They are very nervous of people they don’t know, especially ‘Bobby,’ so after them being in our care for 5 months we thought it best that they stay, especially as no one was showing any interest in them at all. We also have ‘Bubbles’ and ‘Bailey,’ ‘Georgie’s’ other kittens so they are a ‘family’ once again. Ferals do make lovely pets, but with so many domestics looking for homes they don’t get a look in. They are here for life now – so do have a future to look forward to.
