‘Jazz’ had been living outside prior to coming into our care. It was obvious as soon as she stepped out of the carrier that she probably had kidney problems. She was flea infested and grubby and had been living a very sad existence. Her original owners had left her when they moved house a few years previously, so the incoming people ‘inherited’ her. We took ‘Jazz’ to our Vet and this is when the bombshell was dropped – she tested positive for Feline Leukaemia – so all the signs of illhealth she was exhibiting were those related to the leukaemia virus. This was a very sad day as to save further suffering she was quietly laid to rest. Some animals never really have the chance of a loving and settled life – and I honestly feel that little ‘Jazz’ was one of these – but although it was very brief, she was loved and cared for, was in the warm, with meals on a regular basis for the short time she was with us.
