CAN YOU HELP US TO HELP THEM?

The cat situation is now at crisis point.  At this time of the year the rescue centre’s can normally manage with the number of cats needing to come into care, and there are usually enough homes being offered, which in turn enables us to offer help to those in desperate need.  We are at present receiving calls on an almost daily basis asking us to help people by taking their cats into care because they can no longer keep them.  The main reasons being: the owners are moving to accommodation where pets are not allowed or a relationship has come to an end or perhaps sadly there has been a bereavement, the reasons are endless and very varied and are being made worse by the unacceptable degree of indiscriminate breeding, but the plight of the animals remains the same.  Because we are not able to offer help in every case it leaves the owners with some very difficult decisions to make. We do try to prioritise with those in most need.

We have been rescuing animals since 1980 and we have always managed to make ends meet.  At times, over the years, we have struggled to keep our heads above water especially with the Vet fees but there has always been something round the corner to keep us afloat.  Thanks to the generosity of our many supporters we have always been here for our feline friends.  We are unfortunately going to be struggling financially before the year is out.   I cannot bear the thought of turning a desperate creature away – it is bad enough when having to make them wait because of lack of space, but at least we offer support in the meantime, and Veterinary treatment when needed, but when the pot is near to empty how can we help? We are also struggling to get enough items to keep our fund raising stalls stocked.

Would you be willing to help us to help our less fortunate friends by perhaps donating a regular amount by Standing Order? This would enable us to plan ahead, knowing that we were receiving a regular amount each month.  We will not reduce the standard of care we give to each and every one of our feline friends, because all that we do ensures we only pass on healthy animals to new homes.  They are all blood tested for feline leukaemia and feline aids, neutered and spayed, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, vaccinated and all other necessary treatments are carried out prior to rehoming. We also have several cats fostered out on a permanent basis. You can read more about this on our website.

Times are hard wherever you look, and animal charities are no exception.  We wouldn’t be asking for your help if we weren’t DESPERATE. We want to continue to help as many unfortunate felines as we can – can you help us to help them?

We are planning to set up Gift Aid which will increase every donation given, if the donator is a tax payer.  It does not cost you anymore, but it will benefit the cats in our care.

If you would like to donate once a month – ANY AMOUNT would be very gratefully received, and if you would also like to know more about Gift Aid please do contact me.

For Feline Welfare to survive, WE URGENTLY NEED YOUR HELP!

Thank you for taking time to read this, we, and the furry, purry people, look forward to hearing from you.
