NEW HOMES DESPERATELY NEEDED

CAN YOU OFFER A RESCUE CAT OR KITTEN A LOVING AND SETTLED FUTURE?

The cat situation on the Island and Nationwide is now at CRISIS point. Every day someone rings to ask if we can take their cat/s and or kittens for rehoming.  They are astounded to hear that none of the Rescue Centres can help as all are full and overflowing.  Some unfortunately show no compassion for their animals, and it really leaves you wondering why they in fact had them in the first place.

There is far too much indiscriminate breeding with animals of all descriptions.  It seems to be a popular way of making easy money – but when they find they can’t sell them, or even give them away most want them GONE and look to the rescue centres to take them off their hands.  Is the mother then spayed – in too many cases NO.

Cats, including some pedigrees, are being kept in appalling conditions and there seems to be a total lack of legislation to protect these animals.  They are kept and used as breeding machines and there seems nothing in place to ensure they receive just their basic welfare needs.  The stories we hear from some people having acquired their pets privately is soul destroying.

We are INUNDATED with cats and kittens.  They are ALL absolutely ADORABLE and you can learn more about them on our Adoption Page. We are DESPERATE to find loving, safe homes for all our less fortunate feline friends.  At present, although we try to make their lives as interesting as possible while they are in our care, they all feel their lives are on hold.  Being confined is no fun, cats are free spirits and they don’t really understand the restraints enforced on them. WE are trying our best but only YOU can make their lives worth living.  If you feel you have room in your heart and your home for one or two of our feline friends please do give us a call.  We have all shapes, sizes and colours, and all are very special in so many ways.  Come along and meet them and you will see for yourself – they could make your life complete – and you could make their life worth living.

Abandonment and neglect is on the increase, sometimes with devastating results – the Rescue Centres CAN NOT cope with the number of cats/kittens needing help – and there is a slow decline of caring homes being offered.  For every cat of kitten we home we can offer sanctuary to another needy feline, so if you offer a home to a cat in our care you are also helping us to help another in need.

All our cats are screened for feline leukaemia and feline Aids, are neutered/spayed, microchipped and vaccinated.  All necessary treatments are carried out prior to homing eg dentals, treatment for illness or injury etc and continued support is offered under some circumstances even when they are in a new home.  We remain responsible for ALL the cats/kittens we rehome throughout their lives, so if the new owner is unable to keep them – whether that be after 10 days or 10 years – we take them back into our care so we can then plan the remainder of their lives – whether that be several years or just a short period, depending on their age.  We are ALWAYS here in the background and we never abandon ANY cat, whether domestic or feral, that we have rehomed.
